
NAFIPS Best Dissertation Award
Computer Science Graduate is the Winner of NAFIPS Best Dissertation Award
Dr. Nina Marhamati, Fall 2016 Computer Science Doctoral Graduate, is the winner of the 2017 North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS) Best Dissertation Award. Her PhD Committee Chair was Dr. Shahram Rahimi, Chair of the Department of Computer Science. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Winona State University. Her 2016 dissertation titled "Integration of Bayesian Decision Theory and Computing with Words: A Novel Approach to Decision Support Using Z-Numbers" was chosen from among all researchers who received their fuzzy-related PhD in the last two years from a university in North America or Brazil.
