Historical Significance
Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site is about 2 miles South of Petersburg and about 20 miles Northwest of Springfield. It is a reconstruction of the village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood.
Cultural Significance
It is a wonderful experience for people of all ages to be able to experience what Abraham Lincoln's life would have been like about a hundred and fifty years ago. This quaint village allows them to do just that, and provides a wonderful learning experience for many generations.

Hours of Operation
March 1st -- Oct. 31st: Open Wednesday through Sunday 9 – 5
Nov. 1st -- End of February: Open Wednesday through Sunday 8 – 4
No admission fee, just a suggested donation of $2.00 for children, $4.00 for adults, or $10.00 for a family.
